PRIZE OR NOT???

Haihz... still got 13 more days to Berjaya Times Square... really cant wait...

Anyway, got bored of taking pictures... I shall starve my audience of all the pictures they want from me... This may be the last week (or rather, last week and a day) that I will be blogging in Australia. Will be coming back to Malaysia after attending the speech night. There is a BIG chance that I will be getting the DUX of Indonesian Subject... Or the Industry... Or the General proficiency... Nah... Not keeping my hopes high. The prize lists will be out on Monday recess. Can't stop thinking about it.

The boading house is empty. EMPTY. Let me emphasize it ---EMPTY---!!! Well, err... almost empty. Year 12s are gone, so are year 11s after the exams, Year 10s are on a expedition called the bilbuldum track, (and I will be hearing stories of people getting pushed down cliffs hehe) year 9 and 8s are in the other boarding house. There are a few year 10s like me that are not going on the expdition. Around 5 -8. See. I told you it was empty. Normally there are around 200 people in the boarding house. Now got 8 only. SIGH.

Well, ISC is still blocked on my computer. Can anyone get any sense into those computer admins (AKA lab rats)... SCRABBLE IS NOT ANY NORMAL GAME!!!

Well, I leave you here while I go and play some offline Scrabble with the computer... :'(

HARRRRO

Blogging on a friend's computer while he is busy flirting on his handphone to his taiwanese girlfriend :P

Berjaya Times Square Open is only 16 more days away!!! And I am still in a dilemma whether to play in Under 18 or Under 15!!! Depends whether Kang Kang or Suanne is playing in either... hehe... trying to avoid the good people... how evil I am...

Ish... now my friend (Dick Listijono, an Indonesian) is going under his blanket and flirting. I can hear him telling her that woman are the sub dominant 'species' and are weak... Now he is apologizing... lol

I still doubt my scrabbling ability. I can win against fairly highly rated computers (I consistantly beat a computer program rated at 1645), however, I don't seem to be able to play at a consistantly at tournaments... I haven't even won a tournament yet!!!

Dick is kicking me off his laptop so bye for now :)

HOMESICKNESS

Felt feverish and homesick today. Why is homesickness hitting me when I am about to return? Anyway, went back home and played a few games of Scrabble with the computer. No highlights, except for when the computer played F*CK which it extended to F*CKS next turn.

Another of school tommorrow, and 1.5 more weeks till I am coming back!!! Berjaya times square 17 days away!!!

Anyway, I DO have something to look forward to. Berjaya Times Square Open. 10 December. How many more days? Let me count... 18 no... 19 more days. SIGH. Its coming on me. Better study word lists soon.

Got to go now. Something is nagging me to go play scrabble. Oh and anyway, ISC still isn't working. SIGH

Bye

Well, you could say that this World Scrabble Championships was quite a failure for not only Malaysia, but the whole South East Asian Region.

Ganesh failed to secure the championships after losing 5 games in a row.
Malaysia failed to increase the quota of players.
Pakorn Nemitrmansuk got trashed by newly crowned WSC Adam Logan by a mere 3 games.
Singapore failed to increase their country's quota.

I was expecting more from the World Scrabble Championships finals. But Pakorn made a last turn blunder at the deciding match and handed the championships to Adam.

Ganesh could have got a thousand US dollars more if he won the last games against Australian Naween Fernando which he lost to by 5 points.

Sigh. 2007 would be better. I hope

ADAM LOGAN IS THE 2005 WORLD SCRABBLE CHAMPION!!!

Adam Logan is surrounded by the media. He is the 2005 World Scrabble Champion!!!

Adam defeated Pakorn Nemitrmansuk in the minimal 3 games by

G1
Adam Logan 524
Pakorn Nemitrmansuk 409

G2
Pakorn Nemitrmansuk 316
Adam Logan 520

G3
Adam Logan 465
Pakorn Nemitrmansuk 426

Howiszat!!!

WSC Update 4

Still analysing WSC

The Top 4 people with 13 wins are

Adam
Narween
Pakorn and
Peter

It is Pakorn vs Peter. Best result will be a draw so that neither would gain advantage of Ganesh's point if he wins

Adam vs Phil
Phil is a good player. Hope Phil beats Adam :P

Narween vs Akshay
Not so sure about this one but hope Ashkey wins.

GOO GANESH AND HENRY!!!

WSC Update 3

Analysing the Ganesh's chance of winning

Ganesh was leading the field by 2 games when he dropped 4 consecutive games to go to 4th then 7th.

There are 7 more games avalible and Ganesh must win all of them to have a chance.

There are 4 people that have 13 wins, namely,
Adam Logan (CAN)
(13-4, +988)

2. Naween Fernando (AUS)
(13-4, +472)

3. Pakorn Nemitrmansuk (THA)
(13-4, +301)

4. Peter Armstrong
(USA) (13-4, +26)

Ganesh must beat everyone and these people must lose to at least 2 people.

Ganesh then must win the 2 player finals.

Ganesh's next opponent: John O'Laughlin (USA)
Hope he beats him by a bigger spread so that he could get the benefits of his spread

JYNX everyone except Henry and Ganesh

GOOD LUCK GANESH AND HENRY!!!

WSC Update 2

It was a bad day for Malaysians in the WSC

Ganesh lost 4 consecutive games to drop to 7th from 1st while Henry is at 87th, not a good placing.

Fuck. I hope they both better their positions.

WSC Update

Just Passing an update.

Ganesh Asirvatham seems to be the star of the World Scrabble CHampionship. He is currently at 2nd place with 2 more days o go. Will he dethrone Adam Logan of Canada to claim first spot?

Henry is having a bad day, with 4 consecutive losses to hrow him to 79th place. Luckily he won his last game to bounce back to 66th place.

Spot Check

Today got spot check in the boarding house. Apparently someone is breaking into everyone's room so they check eveyone's room and pockets for keys. We then all complain to the master: Aiyoh, you think we will hide at places where it is easy to find meh? But still they want to check. Memang celaka.

Then the rumours started. Aih, I see ah I see that day ah, got blah blah blah going into someone's room you know... Aiyah.... all useless remarks

Wah... I waited outside from 7-8 30 then only come me's turn. The master check and check also din find anything.

(What do you think of the Malaysian Twist of languague I used? hehehe)

And the flies. Yes. Those BLODDY FREAKING FLIES!!! They KILL YOU!!! Its like 30 flies around you. And when you are eating something, there will be close to 50 flies clouding you. When you shoo it, more comes. DAMN FLIES!!!

Wishing All WSC-ers Good Luck

The World Scrabble Championships will officially start on Wednesday (16\11) but games will only start on the following day. Good luck to all Malaysian Participants. Hope Henry and Ganesh will bring back another place for Malaysia. Oh... and hope Ganesh wins the WSC (He is 9th seeded)

GOOD LUCK!!!

There You'll Be

I heard the most beautiful song today, There You'll Be by Faith Hill. It was sang for the Pearl Harbour Movie:

When I think back
On these times
And the dreams
We left behind
I'll be glad 'cause
I was blessed to get
To have you in my life
When I look back
On these days
I'll look and see your face
You were right there for me

[Chorus:]
In my dreams
I'll always see you soar
Above the sky
In my heart
There will always be a place
For you for all my life
I'll keep a part
Of you with me
And everywhere I am
There you'll be

Well you showed me
How it feels
To feel the sky
Within my reach
And I always
Will remember all
The strength you
Gave to me
Your love made me
Make it through
Oh, I owe so much to you
You were right there for me

[Repeat chorus]

'Cause I always saw in you
My light, my strength
And I want to thank you
Now for all the ways
You were right there for me
You were right there for me
For always

[Repeat chorus]

Listen to it and you'll love it.

For Our World

Listen to this song. Its worth listening to. Performed by now 17 year old Billy Gilman. His album 'one voice' made its debut when he was merely 11 and it hit the firsts in American charts, breaking a 4 year record on becoming the youngest person to reach 1st in Amrican Charts.

You know when you get addicted to something its like super uber hard to forget it? Well exactly what these people are experience. I took this pictures at lunch in the same room. Hmph.... $#!+ them!!!!

We are the World

Michael Jackson - We're The World (USA For Africa) Lyrics
There comes a time when we heed a certain call
When the world must come together as one
There are people dying
and its time to lend a hand to life
There greatest gift of all

We cant go on pretending day by day
That someone, somewhere will soon make a change
We are all a part of Gods great big family
And the truth, you know,
Love is all we need

[Chorus:]
We are the world, we are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So lets start giving
Theres a choice we're making
We're saving out own lives
its true we'll make a better day
Just you and me

Send them your heart so they'll know that someone cares
And their lives will be stronger and free
As God has shown us by turning stones to brend
So we all must lend a helping hand

[Chorus:]
We are the world, we are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So lets start giving
Theres a choice we're making
We're saving out own lives
its true we'll make a better day
Just you and me

When you're down and out, there seems no hope at all
But if you just believe theres no way we can fall
Let us realize that a change can only come
When we stand together as one

[Chorus:]
We are the world, we are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So lets start giving
Theres a choice we're making
We're saving out own lives
its true we'll make a better day
Just you and me

This song really touched me. I was listening to it and I was resisting the temptation to cry as it was so emotionary overwhelming. Find the song somewhere on the net and I am sure you would agree with me

HELP!!! GOT LOCKED OUT!!!

OK guys. It started like this. I woke up today in the boarding house, and look at my clock. Hmm.... I am late - 9.30. So I rushed out to get my breakfast (Sunday breakfast was still on) and when I reached it... alas, no more breakfast for me. However, when I was returning to the boarding house, all the doors were locked. GOD!!! I began going round and round the boarding house, hoping to find an opened door. No such luck. Finally, an hour later, someone appeared and I fratically waved to him. Luckily he allowed me in and I went back to my room and guess what? My clock wasn't working and my watch showed the time of 6:12. Minus an hour plus plus from it and I woke up at 5. Hmm... you can't really tell the diffrence here because it gets early sooo early (about 5). *Sigh* Tough luck. Oh. And I installed firefox by the way, but e-messenger STILL isn't working. HELP!!!

Congratulations - you got 7 out of 10 correct!

Passed US citizenship test :) Not that I am going anywhere

Hmmm.... Pure Kisser... LOL

Your Kissing Purity Score: 94% Pure

You've hardly ever been kissed

But the kisses you've given are very missed

Hmm... I am still pure...lol

I am JAPANESE FOOD???

You Are Japanese Food

Strange yet delicious.
Contrary to popular belief, you're not always eaten raw.

Had fun doing these "surveys"

Hmm...

You Should Get a JD (Juris Doctor)

You're logical, driven, and ruthless.

You'd make a mighty fine lawyer.

A career as a lawyer? Maybe not... The only career I really though of was a doctor

More About My School And My Day

OK. I went around the school taking photos today. See what I got:

This is the logo where visitors are greeted with the big sign KEYS HOUSE)

This is the door of my room. I am currently not sharing with anyone so it only says VICTOR CHING while the other space is left blank

This is the Medical House where students do if they are sick.

This funny incident happened in the Physics classroom today. We were connecting up circuits, and someone's circuit wasn't connected properly. It became shining and the second I took this photo it exploded. Some fine equipment destryoed.

This is the Boarding House where all the boarders stay. The quality of boarding is very good.

This is refered as the 100 acre backyard that we have. See the trees in the distance, OK, take about half of what you see now and put it behind those trees. Now. All of that belongs to us. Apparently it was sold to us at a dollar an acre becuase the governemnt was encouraging school to be built.

This sign is in our school telling senior students not to drive above 5 KMPH. Most Ozzie drivers actually adhere to the rules.

Its march out tommorrow, it means that we will be sending the YR 12s that have completed the education here. Bye for now.

My Scrabble equipment all in one pile. I was playing scrabble before I took this picture so I figuired out that it would be a good idea to blog this to you guys. (In no particular order) My chess clock, Delux Set, Scrabble orginal set, custom rack, clipboard, pen that I always use, and marker for tile tracking. I dunno whether it will be a good idea to bring my chess clock back to Malaysia as the customs would suspect that it is a bomb through X-Ray scanning. I'll think about it.

OK. I took this picture of my desk 15 seconds beforeI uploaded it into this blog. OK... its a bit messy but boleh tahan lah...

Thats all for today... watch out for more updates tommorrow

YES!!!!!

YAY!!! YES!!!!! WOOOO HOOOOO!!! THERE IS FINALLY A SCRABBLE TOURNAMENT IN MALAYSIA THAT ISN'T A MINI THAT I AM GOING TO TAKE PART IN!!!! THE BERJAYA TIMES SQUARE OPEN!!!! AND IT IS DURING THE HOLIDAYS!!!!

Damned Scrabble Words

Phew... Finally finished making my one thousand palmcards. Starting on my first thousand 7 letter words. I still have decided whether studying using anamonics or studying top probability words are better. Anamonics stick in my mind better, but top probability saves time and trouble. Sigh. Wish there was a better way to study words. Sigh... Back to work now.

Goodbye England's Love

Goodbye England's Rose - Elton John

Goodbye England's rose
May you ever grow in our hearts
You were the grace that placed itself
Where lives were torn apart
You called out to our country
And you whispered to those in pain
Now you belong to heaven
And the stars spell out your name

And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never fading with the sunset
When the rain set in
And your footsteps will always fall here
Along England's greenest hills
Your candle's burned out long before
Your legend ever will

Magnificent Lyrics eh? Reminds me of my PS Jon's speech on immortals in VI ( ask him - jonathan siao).

Yes!!!

Yes!!!Yes!!!Yes!!!Yes!!!Yes!!!

My first ever triple triple!!! troOpers through the latter r!! 164 points!! Yes Yes!!!

Guesse what? The similar game produced another triple triple for me!!! How lucky can you get? acetoNes!! My second for 152 points!!!

Ending score: 542-216. Bad luck Nick. Almost nearing my all time high: 560 during La Salle mini.

Scrabble Rants

Hmm.... Finally set my Scrabble Goal For Life. To qualify for the World Scrabble Championship in 4 to 6 years time. OK. What am I doing to make this come true? Making palm cards for the top 1000 7 letter words. Studying anamonics. Finishing 3 letter words. Starting on 5 letter words as suggested by Andrew Fisher and David Webb. Now. It seems very unlikely that I will make it. However, hopefully there will be 5 places for Malaysia by then. Go Henry!!! Bring back another spot for Malaysia.

Next Scrabble Goal. To organize a Victoria Institution Open Scrabble next year. Technically, I have denounced my Victorian badge and picked up a Scotch College badge. However, hopefully cmin can be east to be manipulated...... Muahahahahahaha

Have to go now. Once again, Go Henry and Go Ganesh!!! :)
